Lil Rippa Awatere Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Nov-2012
Bright, pale straw-yellow with slight green hues, pale on rim. Fresh, up-front and intense aromas of passionfruit, sweetly ripe gooseberries, nettles and fresh garden herbs are lifted by floral s and esters, building in volume and breadth. Dry to taste, this is stylishly elegant in proportion with clear flavours of English gooseberries and passionfruit. Lively acidity enhances the fruit sweetness, and the flavours flow softly through the palate, carrying through to a tightly bound, dry finish with subtle nuances of fruit and esters that linger. This is an up-front Sauvignon Blanc with clarity of fruit and liveliness. Serve with Pacific Rim and Asian-influenced fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from a single vineyard in the Blind River sub-region, three ferments in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 3.2 g/L rs, the wine given lees contact. 17.5/20 Nov 2012 RRP $18.99
