Lil Rippa Awatere Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Apr-2012
Very pale straw colour, light on rim. The nose is fresh, bold and up-front with zesty gooseberry aromas along with passionfruit and minerally notes, the bouquet showing good concentration and depth. Dry to taste, softly presented flavours of gooseberries and minerals are enlivened by mouthwatering acidity. There is good weight and presence, the wine with an underlying round mouthfeel and texture. The palate has excellent drive and line, leading to a sustained, fresh finish. Fruit from the Awatere Valley, 90% lower Dashwood and 10% Blind River regions, cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. This is a classical Awatere Valley Sauvignon Blanc, mouthwatering and minerally with bright lively fruit. It will be a match with seafood over the next 2+ years. 17.5+/20 Apr 2012 RRP $18.99
