Leveret Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Jun-2015
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with light green hues, near colourless on edge. This has a tight and intense nose with fresh gooseberry, cut grass and nettle aromas at the core, melded with chalky mineral elements, and lifted by fragrant white florals. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate is elegant and slender with subtly luscious and juicy gooseberry and nettle fruit flavours. White floral detail adds interest. The palate follows a soft phenolic line with fresh, lacy acidity lending poise and tension. The wine carries to a light, moderately sustained, dry, grassy finish. This is a light, slender Sauvignon Blanc with some good fruit sweetness and floral lift. Serve as an aperitif and with Japanese, Thai or Vietnamese fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Wairau Valley cool-fermented to 12.0% alc. 16.5+/20 Jun 2015 RRP $19.99
