Les Jamelles Vin Orange 2020, France

Blended White from France - Other
Review Date : 18-Oct-2021
Brilliant, pale golden-salmon, even colour throughout. The nose is gentle, filled the glass with aromas of pear, peach interweave, orange zest, orange blossoms, juniper berries and creamy lees. Medium-full bodied, clean and pleasing aromas of peach, pear adorned by orange zest and blossoms, followed by juniper, ginger and red tea fragrance. The palate is textural, enhanced by a soft grip of chewy, skin phenolic extraction, along with creamy lees detail. Balanced acidity carries subtle tea fragrance and spice throughout the palate, lending a lingering finish. This fragranced vin blanc de maceration features clean, ripe fruit of peach and pear, juniper and ginger spice on a textural palate. Match with tapas and pulled pork over the next 3 years. A blend of Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Muscat, Gewurztraminer and Chenin, on skins for 8 days, fermented to 12.5% alc, aged for serveral months on fine lees. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Oct 2021 RRP $30
