Les Jamelles Syrah IGP Pays d’Oc 2019, France

Syrah from France - Other
Review Date : 13-May-2021
Deep, inky dark purple, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is vibrant and softly full, penetrating violet aroma, blackcurrants, red berries and plums, melded with an amalgam of spices. Medium-full bodied, aromas of blackcurrants, plums have weight, enriched by cloves, cinnamon and violet. The mouthfeel is concentrated and textured by fine-grained supple tannin; balanced acidity provides brightness, very approachable. This is a youthful Syrah with ripe fruit, good weight and a fine-textured palate. Match this with braised lamb and game over the next 3-4 years. Fermented to 13.% alc, post ferment maceration, a portion of the cuvée is oak-aged. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) May 2021 RRP $25
