Les Jamelles Malbec Pays d’Oc 2019, France

Malbec from France - Other
Review Date : 02-Feb-2021
Deep ruby-red with a dark purple hue, lighter edged. The nose is vibrant and full, broody nuances of black plums, blackberries, interweave violet and black liquorice. Full-bodied, black plums, blackberries intermixed red berries, followed by violet fragrance and black liquorice. Ripe tannin extraction contributes to a powdery, dark chocolate mouthfeel, provides some grip. The wine has good flavour balance and some depth, very amiable. Match with grilled meat and hard cheese over the next 3 years. Fermented in concrete tanks to 13% alc, then aged in oak for a short period. 18+/20 pts (91 pts) Feb 2021 RRP $25
