Les Courtilles Cote du Rhone 2019, France

Blended Red from France - Rhone
Review Date : 18-Oct-2021
Deep, moderately full, ruby-red with a purple core, lighter on the rim. The nose is vibrant and gently full, filled the glass with bramble and allspice. Medium-full bodied, succulent aromas of bramble, blackberry jam, melded with cinnamon, nutmeg, clove. The feature is the brilliantly succulent fruit, ripe and juicy with a sense of purity. Natural, powdery tannin left a light, silky coating on the palate. Match with lamb and pheasant over the next 3 years. A blend of 50% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 10% Carignan and 5% Mouvedre from 35-year-old vines, handpicked, destemmed, fermented in concrete vats to 14.5% alc, aged in stainless steel tanks and blended with 20% barrel-matured Cote du Rhone Village. 18.5-/20 pts (92 pts) Oct 2021 RRP $27
