Legardo Munoz Vino de la Tierra de Castilla Garnacha 2012

Grenache from Spain
Review Date : 03-Jul-2014
100% Garnacha from 15 y.o. vines, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 3 months in American oak barrels. Very full, dark, black-red colour with ruby on the rim. The bouquet is elegant in proportion with firmly packed aromas of savoury dark red berry fruits, along with nuances of game adding interest. Medium-bodied, this has a softly concentrated core with bright, sweet and juicy savoury red fruit flavours intermixed with game and a little earthiness. The tannin extraction is fine and restrained, with fresh background acidity providing balance and subtle structure. The mouthfeel is harmonious, and carries through to a fine-textured, dry, lingering finish with liquorice and spice notes. This is an elegantly concentrated, juicy Garnacha with savoury, juicy interest and good balance. Match with poultry, pork and grilled meat dishes over the next 3+ years. 17.0+/20 Jul 2014 RRP $12.99
