Left Field Hawke’s Bay Rosé 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 21-Sep-2016
Bright, pale, purple-hued pink colour, lighter on the rim. The nose is very fresh and tightly bound with bright, lifted aromatics of red berry and cherry fruit and red floral elements, unfolding mouthwatering nuances of watermelon and hints of confectionary. Dryish to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate is soft, rounded and gently mouthfilling with aromatic, lifted red berry and cherry fruit intermixed with red florals and subtle confectionary hints, The fruit is gently sweet and luscious, and guided by a light textural thread with integrated, underlying acid energy. The flavours carry to a finely concentrated and textured finish of strawberries, watermelon and confectionary. This is a softly rounded, subtly rich dryish rosé with lifted and aromatic red fruits and florals, and a gentle palate flow. Serve a an aperitif and with Asian cuisine over the next 18 months to 2 years. A blend of 65% Pinotage, 20% Arneis and 15% Pinot Gris, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 5.85 g/L RS, the white varieties back-blended with the Pinotage. 17.5-/20 Sep 2016 RRP $17.99
