Left Field Gisborne Albarino 2015

Other White from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 21-Feb-2016
Full, bright, light straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues. The nose is very tight and elegantly presented, near slender, with very good intensity of white florals and stonefruits, earthy minerals and pin-point flintiness. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features lively, fresh and bright fruit flavours of white stonefruits and florals, with nuances of honeysuckle and minerals. The fruit has a subtle sweetness that is balanced and enlivened by the crisp acidity which lends energy to the mouthfeel. The wine has a good core that flows with drive, carrying the stylish richness and sweet fruit notes to a lingering, fine-textured, dry finish. This is a crisp, bright, off-dry Albarino with stonefruit, floral, honeysuckle and mineral flavours and a fine line. Serve with seafood and poultry, and with Asian cuisine over the next 3+ years. Hand-picked fruit from the Gisborne region fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 5.0 g/L RS, TA 7.8 g/L and pH 3.23. 17.5+/20 Feb 2016 RRP $24.99
