Leaning Rock Central Otago Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 14-Dec-2015
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues, pale on edge. The nose is softly full with aromas of savoury lime and lemonade notes, saline elements and a subtle, complexing nutty and oxidative detailing. The aromatics build to depth, forming an elegant core, revealing nuances of minerals. Medium-dry to medium in taste, the palate is bright, zesty and lively with a tight core of lime, lemon and citrus fruit flavours along with savoury, nutty, toasty and mineral complexities. The palate vitality and acidity flows along a fine phenolic-textured line, with the fruit richness, sweetness in good balance. The wine carries to a firm, lingering finish with savoury honied, nutty and floral detail. This is a savoury citrus and nutty medium Riesling with a bright, lively mouthfeel and firm finish. Match with mildly spicy Middle Eastern fare over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit, WBP and cool-fermented to 12.2% alc. and 18 g/L RS, the TA 8.8 g/L and pH 3.04 at harvest. 50 cases made. 16.5/20 Dec 2015 RRP $25.00
