Le Casse-Noix Pays d’Oc Syrah 2014

Syrah from France - Other
Review Date : 21-Jan-2016
Full, dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, lighter on edge. This has a finely proportioned nose with softly expressed aromas of ripe, dark raspberry and blackberry fruit, harmoniously entwined with black pepper and spice notes, and lifted with floral elements. Medium-bodied, rich, juicy and sweet flavours of dark raspberries, black fruits, spices and pepper are balanced by fine, grainy tannin extraction. The mouthfeel has suppleness with structure, and integrated acidity adding to the energy and line. The wine carries to a juicy, black-fruited finish with fine grip. This is a finely presented, sweet raspberry and black fruited Syrah with balanced, supple tannins and structure. Serve with barbecued and roasted red meat dishes over the next 3 years. Syrah fruit from sites in Minervois and Saint Chinian in the Languedoc fermented to 12.5% alc., with 10% of the wine aged 4 months in seasoned French oak. 17.0+/20 Jan 2016 RRP $15.95
