Lawson’s Dry Hills Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 03-Nov-2011
Bright, very pale straw colour with green hues and a pale rim. The nose is very fresh and intense, tightly bound and refined, showing moderately pungent passionfruit and gooseberry aromas, along with ripe tropical fruits and minerals. Dry to taste, this has pure lime and passionfruit flavours, still tightly held, but with excellent concentration. Crisp, racy acidity provides steeliness and cut, and drives the palate line with fine textures. Very elegant and detailed, the palate is long and sustained, with subtle sweetness and minerally nuances. A fresh, pure and intense wine that will become richer over the next 2+ years. Match with shellfish and antipasto. Fruit from seven sites in the Wairau and Waihopi valleys, fermented to 13.0% alc. and 4.1 g/L rs, with 7.5% fermented in seasoned French oak barriques. 18.5/20 Nov 2011 RRP $20.00
