Lawson’s Dry Hills Marlborough Riesling 2009

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 28-Mar-2012
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with some depth, pale on rim. This has a very elegant and refined bouquet showing lovely honey and toasty secondary development with layers of lime fruit and florals unfolding in the glass. Off-dry, this shows beautifully interwoven flavours of honey, florals, citrus fruit and complexing toast and honey notes. The mouthfeel is smooth and seamless, the textures very soft, almost luscious, with good acidity discreetly in support. The finish is long and gentle with subtle, toasty nuances lingering with honey and lemon elements. This Riesling is beginning to show complexity and interest, and is developing with great finesse. Serve as an aperitif, or with fine Asian cuisine over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from the company's Waihopi vineyard from vines planted in 2002, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.0% alc. and 9.6 g/L rs. The pH is 2.96 and TA 9.6 g.L. 18.5/20 Mar 2012 RRP $19.00
