Lawson’s Dry Hills Marlborough Pinot Noir 2008

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Apr-2011
90% of the fruit from the ‘Potez' vineyard overlooking the Brancott Valley with clones 115 and 5, the remainder from the estate ‘Waihopi Valley' and adjacent Barnsley sites with a mix of new clones, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 9 months in 25% new French oak barriques. Bright, light ruby-red colour with a pale edge, this has a shy, pretty, ethereal bouquet of red berry fruits and delicate florals, with some depth. Elegant and medium-weighted in style, this has bright dark cherry and raspberry fruit flavours at the core, focussed and tight, backed by rounded, moderately extracted tannins. Sufficiently supple to enjoy now, it will fill out over the next 3-5 years. Match with salmon, tuna, poultry and pork. 17.0-/20 Apr 2011 RRP $28.00
