Lawson’s Dry Hills Marlborough ‘Estate’ Chardonnay 2011

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 26-Apr-2012
Mendoza clone fruit from the ‘Chaytors Road' vineyard cool-fermented in stainless steel to 13.5% alc., the wine given batonnage and undergoing partial MLF. Brilliant pale straw colour with green hues, pale on rim. The nose is fresh with intense aromas of white stonefruits and citrus fruits intermingling with subtle flint and mineral notes and clear butterscotch MLF elements. Dry and medium-full bodied, bright citrus fruit flavours show with buttery MLF notes, the palate showing good richness and juiciness and a creamy texture. The softness is countered by fresh, lacy acidity providing good crispness and line. The palate is one of substance which carries well to a moderately sustained finish. This fresh and creamy textured, unoaked Chardonnay will be a match for seafood, poultry and soft cheeses over the next 3+ years. 17.5+/20 Apr 2012 RRP $19.00
