Lawson’s Dry Hills Marlborough Chardonnay 2014

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Dec-2014
Mendoza clone fruit from 12 y.o. vines from ‘Chaytors Road’, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 4 months on lees with MLF and batonnage. Bright, light straw-yellow colour with light green-gold hues. The nose is fresh with straightforward aromas of white stonefruits melded with positive lemon curd MLF, and minerally lees nuances. This has some intensity. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, light flavours of citrus and stonefruits are entwined with lemon-curd MLF layers. The palate is soft in acidity and has good mouthfeel and presence. There is some underlying power and linearity which carries the wine to a light, dry finish. This is a fresh, light flavoured Chardonnay with up-front stonefruit flavours melded with MLF layers. Match with seafood, poultry and antipasto over the next 2-3 years. 16.5/20 Dec 2014 RRP $19.95
