Laroche ‘La Chevaliere’ Pays d’Oc Syrah/Grenache 2015

Blended Red from France - Other
Review Date : 15-Sep-2016
Dark, even, purple-hued ruby-red colour, very youthful in appearance. This has a gently voluminous and well packed nose with aromas of dark raspberry fruit along with black berried fruits and dark herbs that build in depth in the glass. Spice and pepper elements unfold to add detail. Medium-bodied, the fruit is light and juicy with succulent flavours of dark raspberries interwoven with nuances of herbs and spice. The mouthfeel is fresh and lively with crisp, underlying acidity, and the wine follows a light, grainy-textured line, leading to a moderately sustained finish of sweet red fruits. This is a light, juicy, raspberry-fruited Syrah/Grenache blend with herb and spice detail, and a lively mouthfeel with light tannin grip. Serve with pizza, pasta and barbecued fare over the next 2-3 years. A blend of Syrah and Grenache fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. 16.5-/20 Sep 2016 RRP $18.99
