Deep, ruby-red, lighter on edge. This has a softly full, with minerals and herbs expression on the entry, interweave dark cherries, red plums and underlined spice. Medium-full bodied, aromas of cherries and plums intermixed raspberries, an amalgam of spice unveiled, along with thyme and earth. Tightly weaved tannins coated the palate with a fine grip, reflecting spices and rich tea. Lively acidity provides freshness to the rich palate. This broody Pinot Noir with dark-toned fruit, herb and spice is enlivened by a bright acid line and framed by a tightly knitted tannin structure. Match with lamb ribs and pork belly stew over the next 6-8 years. Handpicked, fermented in open-top tanks to 13% alc with a portion of whole bunches. On skins for 28 days and aged in French oak barrels for 11 months, 30% new oak. 18+/20 pts (91 pts) July 2022 RRP $60
