Lake Road Wines Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Apr-2012
Fruit from the Awatere Valley fermented to 12.4% alc. and 4 g/L rs. Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with green hues on edge. This has a fresh and intense nose of pungent passionfruit, gooseberries and grassy, herbal notes. Dry to taste, crisp and brisk acidity marks the palate with linear, driven fruit flavours in the cooler spectrum. Gooseberries and passionfruit notes intermingle with herbs and green capsicums. The mouthfeel is slender and tight with a drying austerity that carries through to a moderately sustained finish that is crisp with slightly drying textures. This is a bold Sauvignon Blanc with cooler fruit characters and a firm, crisp texture to serve with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. 16.5+/20 RRP $17.00
