Bright, even, pale straw yellow. The nose is full and striking, with aromas of struck-match, brown butter, toast, overlying citrus and stonefruit. Full-bodied, aromas of lemon and yellow stonefruit enriched by struck-match, brown butter and toasted hazelnuts. The bold, flinty and toasty nuances accompanied the ripe fruit, echoing on the palate and driving a long, ---savoury, powerful finish. Match with roasted pork and grilled chicken over the next 3-5 years. Fruit from Reed Vineyard in central Wairau Valley, wild fermented and aged in barriques. 13% alc, vegan friendly. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Feb 2025 RRP $30
