Lake Chalice The Falcon Pinot Gris 2022, Marlborough

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Feb-2023
Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is full, packed with Nashi pear, apple, citrus, floral aromas and spice-dusting. Medium-full bodied, dry-ish to taste, aromas of Nashi pear and Gala apple melded with a suggestion of mandarine peels, cinnamon and white floral. The fruit shows some concentration. Refreshing acidity carries spice and fine-textured phenolics to a dry finish. This dry Pinot Gris possesses crisp orchard fruit with a fine texture and a refreshing line. Match with lemongrass steamed fish and siu mai over the next 2 years. Fruit from Talon block in Dillon's Point predominantly, cool-fermented to 12.5% alc, 5.88 g/l RS, left on lees for 2-3 months before bottling. 18/20 pts (90 pts) Feb 2022 RRP $19.99
