Lake Chalice ‘The Falcon’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2017

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Sep-2018
Full, even straw-yellow colour with the faintest suggestion of blush, lighter edged. The nose is slender in proportion but has good concentration and intensity of white stonefruits entwined with subtle nutty detail and a minerally edge. This is quite steely in expression. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has taut flavours of white stonefruits with subtle notes of herbs, nuts and minerals. The palate has presence and weight with a positive core and line. There is a little phenolic grip with soft acidity carrying the wine to a light finish. This is a taut and slender dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit flavours with herbs, nuts and minerals with good presence and a positive line. Serve with most white meat dishes over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the southern Omaka and Waihopai valleys, cool-fermented in tank with a portion in French oak to 12.5% alc., and 3.2 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Sep 2018 RRP $18.99
