Lake Chalice Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-Mar-2017
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter edged. This has very fresh, intense and mouthwatering aromas of passionfruit, gooseberries and nettles, along with mineral notes. The aromatics are tightly bound and show clarity and focus. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has moderately rich and concentrated flavours of gooseberries with notes of passionfruit entwined with fresh herb, nettle and mineral elements. The mouthfeel is juicy and mouthwatering with bright, racy acidity. The wine flows along a soft-textured line, leading to a gently lingering, nuanced finish of gooseberries and herbs. This is a moderately concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry fruit layered with passionfruit, herb and mineral notes on a mouthwatering, fine-textured palate. Serve as an aperitif and with salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Lower Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.22% alc. and 4.5 g/L RS. 17.5-/20 Mar 2017 RRP $19.99
