La Vieille Ferme Ventoux Rouge 2014

Blended Red from France - Rhone
Review Date : 05-Oct-2015
Dark, deep ruby-red colour with slight purple hues, light on the rim. The nose is fruit-focussed and aromatic with bright, lifted, primary dark red cherry and strawberry fruit along with jam and confectionary elements from whole berry fermentation. Light-medium bodied, up-front, juicy and plush flavours of raspberries and dark cherries show with lifted florals and garrigue herbs. The palate is supple and juicy with light underlying tannins and balanced, lively acidity. The wine carries to an elegant, lingering finish with soft, juicy red fruit and confectionary notes. This is an up-front, juicy-fruited, supple Ventoux with raspberry, cherry and fruit pastille flavours. Serve with antipasto, pasta, pizza and barbecued foods over the next 3 years. Carignan, Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah fermented to 12.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in vats and large oak barrels. 16.5+/20 Oct 2015 RRP $22.99
