La Vieille Ferme Ventoux Rosé 2011

Rose from France - Rhone
Review Date : 21-Dec-2012
From the Perrin family, owners of Chateau de Beaucastel. A blended wine, made from Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah grown on the hills around Mont Ventoux, fermented to 13.5% alc. Light, purple-hued pink colour, youthful in appearance. This has a clean, refreshing and racy bouquet of stonefruits, herbs, red florals and minerals. Dry, crisp and cuttingly fresh, attractively lifted, delicate flavours of red berry fruits and florals feature, and are based on a palate with excellent presence and vinous mouthfeel. The acidity is lively and lacy, and a little textural thread keeps the wine mouth-wateringly dry. The wine has an excellent line which leads to a subtly flavoured, minerally finish. This is a delicately flavoured, mouthwatering and refreshing rosé with plenty of vinosity to serve with salads and antipasto, or with salmon, over the next 2+ years. 17.5-/20 Dec 2012 RRP $24.99
