La Vieille Ferme Cotes du Ventoux 2010

Grenache from France - Rhone
Review Date : 25-Jun-2011
Bright, even, ruby-red colour, youthful in appearance. This has a full, softly expressed nose of bright and jammy raspberry fruit with red florals and confectionary, very primary, but with a restraint. A fruity, juicy wine with good body and warmth at 13.5% alc., the raspberry flavours have an earth and cassis note and are upfront, mouthfilling and attractively lifted. The wine is one of low extraction and supple, soft textures, and soft acidity. A blend of approx. 50% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Carignan and 15% Cinsault, from vineyards on the southern slopes of Mont Ventoux in the southern Rhone. A little shy at present, this will blossom. Drink over the next 2-4 years with antipasto, cold meats and pasta. 16.5-/20 Jun 2011 RRP $23.95
