La Roquete Chateauneuf du Pape 2009

Grenache from France - Rhone
Review Date : 17-May-2012
A blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre, the wine aged 18 months in concrete tank and foudre. Full, even black-red with purple hues to the colour. This has a full, complex bouquet with earth and blood with black and red fruits all intertwined. Full-bodied with a firmly constructed and tightly bound palate, this is deeply concentrated with dark red berry fruits and iron-earth elements, still somewhat restrained, but clearly designed for keeping. This has density and texture and will unfold out of its shyness to show more over the next 8-10+ years.  18.5-/20  May 2012  RRP $65.00
