La Ronciere ‘Cantoalba’ Colchagua Valley Malbec 2010

Malbec from Chile
Review Date : 19-Apr-2012
Malbec fruit from Colchagua Valley, hand-picked and fermented to 13.5% alc., 30% of the wine aged 6 months in seasoned French oak. Very full, near impenetrable black-red colour, youthful in appearance. The bouquet is soft and gentle, showing aromas of boysenberries, dark plums, with hints of cinnamon spice and cedar. Medium-bodied, soft flavours of savoury boysenberries and spice notes feature on the palate, supported by fine-grained, moderately firm tannins and bright acidity. The wine shows good balance and has liveliness and line, leading to an elegant, restrained finish. This is an up-front, softly textures Malbec to serve with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean inspired cuisine over the next 3-4+ years. 16.0-/20 Apr 2012 RRP $20.00
