Fruit from Colchagua fermented to 13.5% alc., 30% aged 6 months in seasoned French oak. Very full, very dark, near impenetrable black-red with purple hues. This has a dense and concentrated nose of fresh and ripe blackcurrant fruit, showing classical varietal character, along with a little resiny oak. Medium-full bodied, powerful and packed flavours of blackcurrant and black berry fruits are encased by substantial tannins, the wine showing good extraction. The mid-palate is dry and firm, and balanced with fresh acidity which leads to a refined finish. This is a well-structured Cabernet Sauvignon with concentrated fruit. It will develop well over the next 5-7 years. Serve with slow-cooked red meat. 17.0+/20 Apr 2012 RRP $20.00
