La Luna de Te Muna Te Muna Road Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 05-Jul-2015
Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, a little lighter on rim. The bouquet is full and open with aromas of dark raspberries and plum fruit entwined with savoury, nutty oak elements and balsamic and soy sauce nuances along with herbs and game. Medium-full bodied, soft, open and fulsome flavours of sweetly ripe dark berry and plum fruit fill the palate. The flavours are complexed by nutty oak, soy sauce and balsamic nuances. Fleshy and soft-textured, supple background tannins provide some structure and backbone, leading the wine to a soft, plush finish. This is a soft and fleshy, up-front Pinot Noir with ripe berry, plum and savoury flavours. Match with pizza, pasta and barbecued fare over the next 2-3+ years. Pond Paddock house plantings, clones Abel, 5, 114 and 667, 4 tonnes from 1.62 ha, co-fermented with 23% whole bunch to 13.0% alc., the wine spending 16 days on skins all aged 20 months in seasoned oak. 16.5/20 Jul 2015 RRP $30.00
