La Fleur d’Amelie Bordeaux 2010

Merlot from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 13-Oct-2013
A blend of 70% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 22% Petit Verdot from younger vines at Ch. de Sours, fermented to 13.5% alc. Very full, black-red colour with purple hues, ruby on rim. The nose is fine and elegant with an amalgam of ripe black berry fruits and redcurrants intermingling with fragrant, cooler herbal elements. Medium-bodied and elegantly proportioned, tight flavours of ripe dark plums and cooler redcurrant fruit are supported by fine, grainy tannins. The extraction lends a dry mouthfeel and a firm flowing line. The flavours are clean, straightforward and show clarity, and lead to a soft, dry, moderately long finish. This is a clean, and elegant, fruit-focussed claret with dark berry and curranty flavours and a dry palate. Match with roasted red meats and hard cheeses over the next 5 years. 16.5+/20 Oct 2013 RRP $24.99
