La Crema Monterey Chardonnay 2015

Chardonnay from USA
Review Date : 24-Jan-2017
Bright, light golden-yellow colour with some depth, a little paler on edge. This has a very firm and tightly bound nose with good depth and intensity of yellow stonefruits and nutty oak, along with complexing minerally lees. Subtle tropical fruit, butter and toasty nuances emerge with aeration. Medium-bodied, the palate is taut and finely concentrated with flavours of yellow stonefruits melded with nutty oak and mineally lees. The mouthfeel is youthfully firm with very fine textures and brisk acidity lending a refined line with underlying drive. The wine has good linearity and carries to a long and concentrated finish of citrus and stonefruit, nuts and minerals. This is a youthful, tightly bound Chardonnay with stonefruit, nutty and mineral flavours. It has the potential to develop greater richness over the next 4-5+ years. Serve with seafood, poultry and pork. Chardonnay fruit from Monterey fully barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 5 months in primarily French oak, 20% new, undergoing 15% MLF and batonnage. 18.0+/20 Jan 2017 RRP $40.00
