La Consulta ‘Reserva’ Uco Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina
Review Date : 03-May-2015
Full, very dark, black-red colour with slight garnet hues on rim. The nose is soft and full with good presence and vinosity, the fruit expression somewhat restrained initially, but growing to show blackcurrants, fresh aromatic herbs and a little jamminess. Medium-full bodied, the fruit flavours are light, revealing ripe, sweet red currant and berry fruit flavours with plum and jam notes. The fruit sweetness is enhanced by soft acidity, and is balanced by grainy tannin extraction which carries the wine to a moderately sustained finish of currants and plum jam. This is a gently fruited Cabernet Sauvignon with sweet, jammy elements and a grainy-structured palate. Serve with pizza, pasta, barbecued and grilled red meats over the next 3-4 years. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, hand-picked and fermented to 14.2% alc., the wine spending 18 days on skins, with 60% of the wine aged 8 months in French and American oak. 16.5/20 May 2015 RRP $19.99
