Very dark, deep, purple-hued black-red colour, youthful in appearance. The bouquet is elegantly concentrated with aromas of ripe boysenberries and dark red plums, the primary fruitiness gently lifted with oak spices, the aromatics very harmonious and integrated. Medium-full bodied, attractively soft and plush flavours of ripe black fruits, boysenberries plums and earth are interwoven, forming a densely packed palate with soft, rounded mouthfeel. The acidity is low, and along with the fine, supple tannins, the textures are smooth and seamless. The fruit depth provides good drive and the flavours are carried to a long, soft and sweet finish. This is a plush and seamless Malbec with ripe black fruits and some earthy interest. Serve with flavoursome pastas, casseroles and stews over the next 5-7+ years. 100% estate Malbec from the Uco Valley, grown at 1,000 m.a.s.l., fermented to 14.0% alc., 80% of the wine aged 12 months in 70% French and 30% American oak barrels. 18.0/20 Feb 2013 RRP $25.00
