Full, very dark, black-red colour with youthful purple hues, a little lighter edged. This has a soft and densely packed nose with a fine core of spicy black berry and aromatic black plum fruit, entwined with plum jam, black ink and minerally, reductive nuances. Medium-full bodied, the palate is elegantly proportioned with concentrated flavours of black berries and plums, along with spices, ink and oak, and some minerally elements. The fruit is supported by very fine-grained tannins, the extraction balanced and refined, allowing the fruit sweetness to carry through to an elegant finish with good length. This is an elegant, sweet, black-fruited Malbec with fine structure and textures. Serve with barbecued and roasted red meats, and semi-hard cheeses over the next 5-6+ years. 100% Malbec from Paraje de Altamira, Uco Valley, given a cold soak and fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine spending 7-10 days on skins post ferment and given 9 months French and American oak contact. 17.5/20 May 2015 RRP$24.99
