La Celia ‘Heritage’ Uco Valley Mendoza Malbec 2007

Malbec from Argentina
Review Date : 15-Sep-2011
Very full, dense, saturated black-hued purple-red colour, this has a deep and solid nose showing some restraint and finesse of pure red and black berry and plum fruit aromas with ink, liquorice and spicy oak elements all in harmony. Full-bodied, this is a very well-balanced and proportioned wine with dark plum and berry fruit flavours lifted with violet florals. The extraction is significant, but extremely fine-grained, and the palate is underlined by excellent acid tension. Layers of fragrant and luscious flavours unfold in the mouth. 100% Malbec from estate high altitude Uco Valley sites, fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged in 100% new French oak for 12 months, then 30% of the blend aged a further 3 months. A refined and concentrated wine of aromatic beauty. This will develop another 8-12+ years. Serve with fine lamb, beef and venison dishes. 19.0-/20 Sep 2011 RRP $70.00
