La Belle Angele Gamay 2020, France

Gamay from France - Other
Review Date : 23-Mar-2022
Deep ruby-red, good clarity, even colour throughout. The nose is soft and upfront; aromas of dark cherries, blackcurrants interweave cinnamon and a hint of earth. Medium-light bodied, primary aromas of cherries, blackcurrants fill the palate, cinnamon and earth accompanied. Supple and smooth tannins contribute to the line and texture supported by juicy acidity. This primary-fruited Gamay shows cherry and blackcurrant fruit with lively acidity on a smooth palate. Match with antipasto and light red curry over the next 2 years. Semi-carbonic fermentation started with a few days of cold maceration, fermented to dry with 12% alc, aged in vat for a few months. 16.5/20 pts (83 pts) Mar 2022 RRP $19.95
