La Bella Rosa Pinot Noir 2021, Central Otago

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 08-Jun-2023
Dark ruby-red, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is soft and elegant, with aromas of raspberry, sour cherry, melded with herb, slightly minty, fine spice and floral lifting. Medium-bodied, aromas of raspberry and sour cherry with a suggestion of cola nut, layered with thyme, mint, cinnamon, nutmeg, star anise and a hint of floral. The mouthfeel is smooth with powdery tannin extraction, unfolding a tight, herbaceous element. Fresh acidity cleanses and leaves a salivating palate. This Pinot Noir shows delicate red fruit, floral and an amalgam of spice and herb, with a long and herbaceous finish. Match with duck and pigeon over the next 8 years. Handpicked fruit from Mt Rosa Lodge in Gibbston, clone 777, 13% alc. 19/20 pts (95 pts) Jun 2023 RRP $89
