La Bella Rosa Pinot Noir 2019, Central Otago

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 08-Jun-2023
Moderately deep crimson with a tinge of garnet, lighter on the rim. The bouquet has a soft edge and penetrating aromas of cherry, dried cranberry, plum, desiccated rose, shiitake, forest floor, smoky flint and spice cupboard. Medium-bodied, concentrated on the palate, with aromas of cherry, plum and dried cranberry interweaved with desiccated rose, shiitake, forest floor, integrated spice, and a sweet, smoky linger. The mouthfeel is silky, with powdery grain tannins dissolved into the palate. The wine is harmonious with a lovely depth of flavours; integrated spice elevated with rose fragrance lends a very long, enticing finish. This Pinot Noir is tremendously pretty with excellent depth and complexity, grace and strength, carry a long, alluring finish. Match with pigeon with truffle sauce and roasted duck over the next 8+ years. Handpicked fruit from Mt Rosa Lodge in Gibbston, clone 777, 13% alc. 19+/20 pts (96 pts) Jun 2023 RRP $109
