Kumeu River ‘Village’ Chardonnay 2009

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Northland & Auckland
Review Date : 26-May-2011
Very pale straw-yellow colour with a very pale edge, this has a soft, fullish nose of subtly expressed stonefruits and nuts in a harmonious amalgam. An elegantly sized wine, this has gentle stonefruit flavours with some mineral elements on the palate. The acidity is soft, but is sufficiently fresh and the wine is clean, lively and pleasingly harmonious. Fruit from the Kumeu region, one-third fermented in French oak barriques, two-thirds in stainless-steel, by indigenous yeasts to 13.0% alc., with 100% MLF. Serve with antipasto, seafood and poultry over the next 3-4 years. A delightful and very drinkable Chardonnay. 17.0+/20 May 2011 RRP $21.95
