Konrad Marlborough Pinot Noir 2009

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Feb-2011
The light ruby-garnet colour indicates the accessibility of this wine. Soft and full on the nose, there are attractive aromas of strawberries and florals, and nuances of savoury meaty notes. Oaking is very subtle. A medium-weighted wine at 14.0% alc., the gentle red-berry fruit and subtle dried herb elements are framed within a palate with a relatively firm structure. However, any austerity is moderated by the sweetness of the fruit and fresh acidity. Drink now and over the next 3-4 years. Made from Waihopi and Wairau fruit, fully destemmed, given a cold soak and wild yeast fermented. The wine was aged 10 months in new and seasoned French barriques. 16.5+/20 Dec 2010 RRP $28.95
