Kono Nelson Pinot Gris 2018

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 29-Sep-2018
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on the rim. The nose is a little restrained in expression but shows vinosity and presence with softly packed and deep aromas of white and yellow stonefruits with nuances of exotic florals and some pear, honeysuckle and mineral notes. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has light and nuanced flavours of white and yellow stonefruits with exotic floras, pears and honey. The palate has good weight, with the flavours showing well on the front palate. As the wine flows, the flavours recede and carry to a softly nuanced finish with some length. This is a light-fruited but up-front dry Pinot Gris with weight and presence. Serve with Asian cuisine over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Whenua Matua’ vineyard, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 5 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 16.5+/20 Oct 2018 RRP $17.95
