Koha Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Feb-2017
Bright, light straw-yellow colour, paler on the rim. The nose is gently full and harmonious with rich passionfruit aromas along with fresh herbs and subtle underlying notes of nettles and cut grass. The aromatics are integrated and even in expression. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is slender in proportion with elegantly concentrated flavours of ripe passionfruit entwined with green apples, fresh herbs and hints of nettles. The flavours show good depth and are guided by a fine-grained phenolic line, and enhanced by fresh, crisp acidity. The wine has good linearity leading to a light, textured, dry finish of passionfruit and nettles. This is an elegant, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit and nettle flavours on a grainy, textured line. Match with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Marlborough fruit, 74% from the ‘Home’ Wairau Bar vineyard and 26% from the ‘Redwood Hills’ vineyard, Awatere, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.5 g/L RS, the wine aged on fine lees. 17.0+/20 Feb 2017 RRP $18.99
