Koehler-Ruprecht Kallstadter Saumagen Riesling Spatlese 2008

Riesling from Germany
Review Date : 28-Jan-2014
Bright, light golden-hued straw colour. The bouquet is very fresh, pure and still undeveloped, tightly bound with white stonefruits, minerals and steel, unfolding delicate citrus fruit notes and a suggestion of honeysuckle. Off-dry to taste, beautifully refined and tightly concentrated flavours of limes, florals and honeysuckle meld with intricate savoury minerally reduction complexities. The mouthfeel is crisp and racy, with a steely, driven flow exuding vitality. The wine has a slipperiness and flows to a fine, firm, but delicately nuanced finish with excellent length. This will develop over the next 8-10 years. 19.0/20
