Klein Constantia ‘Vin de Constance’ 2012

Sweet Wine from South Africa
Review Date : 27-Sep-2016
Bright, light orange colour. This has a tightly bound nose with lovely clarity and focus, showing ripe citrus fruit with apricots, orange marmalade, musk and nutty oak. Very sweet, the palate is tightly concentrated with flavours of citrus fruits, marmalade, nuts, musk and honey, along with slightly resinous oak. The wine is very fine-textured and underlined by some alcohol power and drive. The acidity is integrated, and the wine carries along a fine, firm and well-packed line leading to a soft finish. This is still very youthfully taut and will blossom over the next 5-7 years. Muscat de Frontignan fruit, raisined and fermented to 14.3% alc. and 160 g/L RS, the wine aged 30 months on lees in 60% new French and Hungarian oak and French acacia wood. (500 ml) 18.5-/20 Sep 2016 RRP $140.00
