Klein Constantia ‘Vin de Constance’ 2009

Sweet Wine from South Africa
Review Date : 27-Sep-2016
Bright orange-gold colour with some depth. The bouquet is full, deep and solidly presented with aromas of orange marmalade, savoury honey, raisins and musk, with toffee and caramel notes and a complexing, funky earth and wood note. Very sweet, the palate is soft and full, with densely packed and robust flavours of savoury citrus fruits, marmalade, dark raisins, musk, honey, caramel and earth. This has a complex sweet fruit and sour acid expression, and the mouthfeel possesses a little phenolic grip and dryness. This is evolving and showing savoury secondary funkiness. Muscat de Frontignan fruit, raisined and fermented to 14.0 % alc. and 160 g/L RS, the wine aged 48 months on lees in 60% new French and Hungarian oak and French acacia wood. (500 ml) 17.5/20 Sep 2016 RRP $N/A
