Klein Constantia ‘Vin de Constance’ 2004

Sweet Wine from South Africa
Review Date : 27-Sep-2016
Bright, light orange colour with some depth. This has a very soft and voluminous bouquet with ethereal and harmoniously melded aromas of ripe citrus fruits and tropical fruits, orange marmalade, honey and nutty, faintly resinous oak. This is still fresh, and the nose has a little volatile lift adding to the interest. Very sweet, the palate is elegant and refined, with lifted aromatic fruit, showing citrus, marmalade, honey and musk. The fruit is carried by some underlying alcohol, and the mouthfeel fresh from lacy acidity. This is still taut in concentration and the wine carries to a long finish of honey, musk and nutty oak. The is developing with grace and beauty. Muscat de Frontignan fruit, raisined and fermented in tank and 500 L oak to 14.2% alc. and 130 g/L RS, the wine aged just under 4 years in barrel. (500 ml) 19.0-/20 Sep 2016 RRP $N/A
