Bright straw-yellow colour. This has a tight and elegant bouquet with fresh aromas of white stonefruits and herbs, with soft gooseberry fruit, just beginning to show some savoury secondary notes. The aromatics are shy in expression. Dry to taste, the palate is beginning to soften, but carries good acidity, providing a clear and crisp mouthfeel. The flavours are pure with white stonefruits and herbs, still tightly held, and enlivened by zesty acidity, the wine growing in depth in the glass, and revealing some phenolic textures that carry to a dry finish. The Semillon component is reckoned to provide a fatter mouthfeel, but it is a minor element to me. This is rather tight and shy. Brilliant straw-yellow colour with green hues, youthful in appearance. The bouquet is full, broad and openly expressed with gooseberry fruit and dark herbs, just showing a little savoury grassy secondary elements. Dry to taste, full open and brackish flavours of gooseberry fruit, grass and herbs feature on palate. The fruit has a little esters lift, adding some aromatic nuance. The palate is open and rounded with a robust feel, and moderately concentrated, and a little oiliness adds some richness. Fresh, crisp acidity underlines the fruit and carries through to a crisp, textural finish. Drink over the next 2 years. 17.0+/20 Aug 2013 RRP $30.00
