Klein Constantia ‘Perdeblokke’ Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa
Review Date : 27-Sep-2016
Very pale coloured. The nose shows a range of aromatics from sweet and ripe green stonefruits to savoury herb and nutty elements, the oaking noticeable with flinty lees detail. This is refreshing and tightly bound at the core. Dry on palate, and till very tightly bound, the flavours are lifted and piquant with gooseberries, fresh herbs, and complexed by nutty, spicy nuances of barrel work. The mouthfeel is refined and refreshing with soft, lacy acidity, and the crisp, mouthwatering palate leads to a long, aromatic, dry finish. This is showing fine and balanced oak inputs. Two-thirds fermented in stainless-steel and one-third in 500 L to 13.66% alc. and 2.8 g/L RS, the wine aged 9 months on lees. 18.5/20 Sep 2016 RRP $51.00
